Our guests can enjoy the many flower beds and beautiful trees, many we have planted including a Mulberry, Catalpa, Golden Acacia and Eucalyptus. Plus the older Mirabelle, Fig, Cherries and Apple trees too. You can sit on the south facing terrace for your continental breakfast with jam made from our own fruit.
For your entertainment you can visit the miniature railway under construction by Nicholas. Spend time in the garden painting with help from Kim, an artist herself. (Please bring your own artist materials).
Les Sabots is on the edge of the village of La Foret Auvray (Dep.61) high in the heart of what is called "Suisse Normande". It is an ideal place to stay for a quiet time or to walk and cycle. Go out and visit the many interesting towns and chateaux in the region. Or up to the coast to see the landing beaches and the many museums. May be to Bagnoles de l'Orne to take the waters or visit the casino there. The accomodation we offer is on the first floor. Bedroom 1 we call "Magnolia", has a double bed and a shower room en-suite.
The second room is "Wisteria" which has two single beds and a shower room en-suite. Downstairs is the breakfast sitting room leading onto the terrace and garden which is also the guests' independent entrance. Internet access
Come and stay with us at " Les Sabots "(The clogs.) Our lovely 200 years old stone "longère", long house built of local Normandie stone, where the traditional wooden clogs used to be made (hence its name). Come and spend some time in this lovely area for an unforgettable stay.
We carefully and sympathetically restored the house to a high standard using local materials and keeping its charming character.
Our garden is our special joy, a haven of tranquility with its large pond with Koi carp and other interesting fish.
Open April 1st to 15th November
